PWC awarded in international research convention

The Philippine Women’s College of Davao gained recognition at Rizal Memorial Colleges’ first International Multidisciplinary Research Convention held last September 29, 2018 at the FilOil Flying V Event Center.

Dr. Alfonso Bantilan, program chair of BS Information Technology, Dr. Erwin Tangonan of BS Hospitality Management, Dr. Cheryl Vilog of AB Broadcasting, and Dr. Lyndon Devero, dean of PWC college, were among the 20 recipients of the best research paper award out of the 130 presenters.

Spearheaded by Dr. Pablo Busquit of RMC, the convention was in coordination with the Philippine Association for Graduate Education (PAGE Region XI) and Council of Deans for Graduate Education (CoDGE) Region XI. With the vision to publish and share research expertise, it highlighted the theme: Research Collaboration among ASEAN Colleges and Universities: Prospects of Hope and Aspiration for Educational Empowerment.

6 international partner schools from Indonesia and Malaysia led by Dr. Sanihu Munir of Jasmine Education and Training from Kendari Indonesia participated in the convention attended by a total of 1,200 participants.

Dr. Devero said that the significance of research culture in an institution is enacted in enhancing systems and other operations, especially in the assessment and development of its existing programs. With the research program already embedded in PWC’s curriculum, Dr. Devero looks into furthering research to comply with global research standards.
