PWC signs MOA with Archdiocesan Nourishment Center

PWC of Davao officially sealed its partnership with the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC) with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony last January 28, 2019 at the Juna Conference Room.

ANC was represented by administrative head Sr. Ma. Felina S. Inting, apostolate-in-charge Sr. Edna Dailisan, and operation-in-charge Sr. Ma. Nerissa B. Batulao.

Junior high school principal Dr. Reynald A. Japay, grade school principal Milagros D. Saga, Student Services director Dr. Eufrosina Mines, and BED Community Extension Services coordinator Paolo S. Naval signed the memorandum in behalf of PWC.

The partnership project, to be called the “PWC of Davao Community Outreach Program for Archdiocesan Nourishment Center” consists of the institution’s assistance in the development of the beneficiaries’ literacy and numeracy, provision of basic health and nutrition training for the children, provision of parents’ seminars and training, provision of children’s basic school needs and supplies, and arts and culture awareness and appreciation.

The program will be renewed every year, commencing on SY 2018-2019.

The ANC, currently under director Msgr. Paul A. Cuison, was established by different lay movements of the Archdiocese of Davao following the call of Pope Francis to reach out to those in the periphery of society. The center has then spearheaded services such as feeding programs for malnourished children, medical and dental assistance, regular human and spiritual formation to children and their parents, and educational assistance to the beneficiaries. PWC has been engaging with the center for quite some time and has now decided to make the partnership official.

Mr. Naval believes that this partnership is not just helping the beneficiaries, but also the students and stakeholders of PWC. “Although PWC provides assistance, we gain more from this partnership as our students get to learn the reality outside of school,” he said, “ hopefully, this is just the start of a meaningful partnership that will eventually bring us to the next level, the real meaning of service—we will not do service because of an agreement, but because that is our call.”
