Business Education, SHS-ABM hold seminar with DTI
With the ever-present and even growing opportunities for business in the local scene, PWC continues to take initiatives towards becoming a renowned institution that offers BS Entrepreneurship course in Davao City.
The Business Education department and Senior High School – Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Track held a seminar entitled “Dynamics of Entrepreneurial Processes and Opportunities” on December 7, 2018 at the PWC Pavilion.
Resource speakers Ms. Mae Flor Caminade and Ms. Eunice Flores from the Department of Trade and Industry Region XI were invited to lead the entrepreneurship talk, discussing topics such as the DTI MSME Development Program, Philippine SMEs, entrepreneurial mindesetting, innovation, business activity, among others.
During the seminar, BS Entrepreneurship students also presented the products they had developed with the Food Processing Innovation Center along with BS Food Technology students, namely: durian jam, mango-pineapple jam, camote chips, squash chips, and mango puree. The DTI-assessed food products were the students’ output for subjects Business Opportunities, Business Plan, and New Product Development all under MS. Elizabeth G. Pasion, MBA,DBA of the Business Education Program. A first for the program, the project gives the students a headstart for the Business Plan Implementation course which they will be taking up in 3rd year.
In line with the school’s tradition of innovation and principle of learning by doing, the department looks forward to further immerse the students in activities that are instrumental to their growth as future entrepreneurs.
