PWC of Davao’s IME start-up for Fashion, Alfombra, has been officially accepted to join the Hult Prize Monterrey 2023 Summits co-hosted in partnership with Tecnológico de Monterrey from 23rd June to 24th June 2023.
Hult Prize is the world’s largest student competition for social impact, with nearly 200,000 individuals participating in its programs this year alone. Only 700 startups were selected to participate in the Summits, which means that Alfombra has already demonstrated exceptional potential and promise.
Not only will this be a life-changing experience but it will also put Alfombra enroute to the 2023 Global Accelerator Phase I. Representing one of over 100 countries in this year’s program, the participation of Alfombra in the Hult Prize Summits will provide invaluable opportunities to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts from around the world. This is a milestone moment for Alfombra’s startup journey to the final round and potentially win the grand prize of 1,000,000 USD of startup capital.

PWC Davao Explores AI and Creativity During Philippine Creative Industries Month 2026
Philippine Women’s College of Davao (PWC) joined the celebration of Philippine Creative Industries Month 2026 with an insightful session titled “Human + Machine,” exploring the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and human creativity. Led by Emil L. Englis, MAFAD, the lecture encouraged Fine Arts and Design students to embrace AI as a powerful creative tool rather than a replacement for human talent, preparing them for new opportunities in the creative industry.
Anti illegal Drugs Campaign 2926
The Basic Education Department’s Student Formation Office, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), conducted an Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign for Grade 6 to 12 students aimed at strengthening awareness, prevention, and resilience against substance abuse.
Basic Life Support Seminar-Workshop
The Philippine Women’s College of Davao, through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), conducted a Basic Life Support Seminar-Workshop at the RSM Events Center. The session equipped PWC college students with essential knowledge and skills in responding to medical emergencies, guided by facilitators Joy Grace S. Alfeche and fellow Red Cross volunteers.
