Flexible Learning System
1. Will you be offering online class? What approach will be implemented?
Yes, all classes will be on line this coming SY 2020-2021. PWC is preparing for its own approach which we call PWC–DLC (Digital Learning Commons) and we will use the NUADU platform.
2. Will students be required to go to school at some point (during classes)?
No, not yet. For as long as our government does not allow face-to-face interaction, students are not required to go to school.
3. What platforms will PWC be using?
PWC will be using NUADU Learning Management System (LMS) as the platform to host the online learning environment. This system was chosen for its usability and ability to conduct formative assessment and development learning approaches. PWC learners will benefit from automated adaptive training tailored to serve the learners’ needs, curriculum, and cognitive skills gaps. It is designed to support individual learning paths and provide formative, personalized feedback to learners, thereby increasing their proficiency and engagement in the process.
4. Is PWC TED still on trimestral mode?
Effective school year 2020-2021, PWC will shift to semester mode.
5. Is there a learning option for students with no/poor internet connection?
Learners without gadgets or unreliable access to the internet can provide a USB Flash Drive to PWC to get the files (printable materials such as learning packs) or home-based instructional modules.
6. Do we need to purchase books?
Yes, depending on the specific course. There are courses which require text books.
7. When is orientation and class opening?
Classes for the College will start on August 31, 2020. Freshmen Orientation is scheduled on August 26, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom. (link will be provided later). Orientation for 2nd to 4th year students both in the Regular and Evening Programs will be given by Academic Cluster Directors and Program Chairs. Schedules will be posted on PWC Official and SSC sites.
8. I am considering to skip school for this school year. What are the implications?
If you skip this school year, then you are delayed for one year.
9. How will these changes affect school fees?
- Shift from trimester to semester (enrolment per SY is only 2x (excluding summer)
- Tuition fee per unit is the same.
- Total miscellaneous fees in a year will significantly reduce (charged 2x only in a semester, instead of 3x in a trimester)
- Shift in the delivery of learning from F2F to online
- Tuition fee per unit is the same
- Selected miscellaneous fees will reduce because rebates will be given
10. What technology / internet access should I have at home to effectively implement NUADU (or other chosen platform)?
Minimum technical requirements for the use of NUADU:
- NUADU runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser
- Internet Browsers: (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari) updated to the latest version (one version back is permissible), enabled JavaScript, enabled Cookies, enabled Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Flash ver. 9 plugin
- Internet Connection/Speed: At least 512Kbps or higher/faster
- Hardware (PC) System Requirements:
- Microsoft Windows 10 or MacOS 10.10 and newer OS
- Processor: At least Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 or higher
- RAM: 2GB or higher
- Video Card: Minimum requirement: 128MB of video memory
- Sound Card: Minimum requirement: 16-bit
- Mobile/Tablet Requirements: NUADU Mobile App is available for iOS and Android
11. What student services will be available online?
Services online will still be available for the following:
- guidance services
- Registrar
- Clinic online referral and prescription
- Library online system
12. Are the class sizes the same?
Yes, class sizes will be the same
13. Will I have opportunities to interact with classmates?
Interactions with your classmates are still on line during your scheduled class time.
14. Will the usual Regular and Evening Programs be applicable?
Yes, we still provide the Regular Program and the Evening Program.
15. Will we be required to report to virtual class Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm (for Regular Program) and 5 pm to 9 pm (for Evening Program)?
Yes, Classes for the Regular Program are scheduled 8 am to 5 pm; and classes for the Evening Program are scheduled 5 to 9 pm.
Effective SY 2020-2021 our semester schedule is divided into 3 terms per semester. On the average, students will have 4 hours of online classes per day.
16. I am not proficient with computers and management of the internet, how can I adapt?
The PWC of Davao Flexible Learning Task Force and the Special Flexible Learning Group will conduct series of orientations, trainings and assessments for students on the use of the NUADU LMS and Microsoft Teams.
17. How will online classes be scheduled?
There shall be 3 terms in a semester, with each term completed in 6 weeks.
First Semester Schedule by Term:
1st Term: August 31-October 10, 2020
2nd Term: October 14-November 26, 2020
3rd Term: December 1, 2020-January 26, 2021
The following is a generic structure of the college class schedule. Note that laboratory classes will be scheduled separately. Special arrangements may also be made depending on the subject.
REGULAR PROGRAM
- Each subject will normally hold classes twice a week, for four (4) hours per session.
- Students will attend at most 2 classes daily; the first period is scheduled at 8 AM to 12 noon while the second period is scheduled at 1 PM to 5 PM.
- Classes are to be held Monday-Saturday depending on the subjects taken.
EVENING PROGRAM
- Each subject will normally hold classes twice a week, for four (4) hours per session.
- Students will attend 1 class daily, scheduled at 5 PM to 9 PM.
- Classes are to be held Monday-Saturday depending on the subjects taken.
Admission
1. I am planning to transfer to PWC. How can I undergo assessment (for crediting of subjects)?
Kindly contact the Chair of the program you intend to enrol in. (See end of page for the contact directory.) Be ready with the Transcript of Record (or its equivalent) from your previous school.
2. How can I enroll online?
When the enrollment period begins, go to PWC website (www.pwc.edu.ph) or the official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pwcdvo) to retrieve the ONLINE REGISTRATION LINK. This will open an online registration form that you will have to fill out and attach requirements to.
3. How will we pay for enrollment?

4. Can I enroll with lacking requirements?
We will be accepting incomplete requirements, however, the following have to be provided in order to enroll:
- First Year College: Report Card
- College Transferees: Transcript of Record OR Student Permanent Record (or receipt to prove that you have requested for the document from your school)
5. Do you accept transferees?
Yes, we do accept transferees. Please contact the program chair of your desired program to undergo evaluation and prepare your TOR.
