Student leaders join Summer Leadership Training
Philwomenian student leaders gathered for the Summer Leadership Training held last June 15 to 16, 2019 in preparation for the coming school year.
Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council and TED OSA coordinator Edwin Dalumpines, this year’s training embodied the theme “Driving Breakthroughs by Unleashing Future Leaders”. Around 50 club officers from 1st year to 4th year college participated in the activity.
The first day of the training consisted of the leadership workshop held within campus premises.
Dr. Jessie Manuta, the newly appointed dean of college, delivered the opening remarks. The attendees were then engaged in a substantial discussion of the following topics: Servant Leadership, Amendments, Minutes of the Meeting Format and Requirements, and Events Management. Throughout the discussions, the students got to apply and share their learnings through a workshop followed by the output presentation.
The second day built and tested camaraderie, rapport, and strategical prowess as the participants launched into a series of teambuilding games at the Gap Farm. They kickstarted the day with an energetic Zumba session and exhibited creativity in cheer-making and presentation, followed by other competitive challenges throughout the day. Representatives from Every Nation Campus also gave their motivational insights on leadership.
The activity culminated with the conferring of certificates, prizes, and awards.
PWC maintains its efforts to support student development by empowering young leaders to take action and continuously seek learning beyond the classroom. This is in line with the institution’s vision to be a renowned college in Davao not just for academic excellence but also for producing society and industry leaders towards sustainable and inclusive development.
Classes for the tertiary level will start on June 26, 2019. [Click here to learn about TED program offerings].
