Philwomenians joined the PPCRV volunteers for ECHAMP (Election that is Clean, Honest, Accurate, Meaningful and Peaceful) during the midterm national and local elections last May 13, 2019.

Operation ECHAMP is a collaborative effort of PPCRV and DACS that has been going on for years, in which the latter’s non-partisan member schools such as PWC take part of.

13 volunteers from the PWC community spearheaded by TED Community Extension Services coordinator Anita Jabla assisted in 3 schools: Matina Central Elementary School, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, and Don Manuel H. Gutierrez Elementary School.

The volunteers’ main task was to assist the voters in locating their assigned precincts, leading to an orderly election process.

“Through the activity, we hope to instill [in Philwomenians] social consciousness and a sense of responsibility,” shared Ms. Jabla,  “it is actually an opportunity to serve the country, as a student volunteer has phrased it”.
