PWC Fashion Design students take part in workshop series

Senior high school and college students attended the I Am Design Thinking Design Seminar-Workshop Series held last January 18, 2019 at the PWC HRM Function Room.

The first day of the workshop centered on empowering the students’ creative potential, profiling fashion icons and identification of the different fashion personas. Students were then tasked to dress up in their self-identified persona for the following day.

PWC Fashion Design alumni Christopher Zamora, Cheri-Lou Aranuez, Jun Artajo, and Wilson Limon graced the event and shared their experiences and accomplishments in the fashion industry.

Artajo notably placed 2nd in the 49th Japan Fashion Design Competition and made a feat in Manila FAME’s Manila Wear and British Council’s Look of Style Awards in 2012. Limon, Zamora and Aranuez on the other hand pursued what they have started with their theses, advancing local communities in their rich cultural crafts by working hand in hand in infusing tradition and the contemporary industry.

PWC has consistently been offering quality BFA Fashion Design course in Davao with emphasis on the appreciation and promotion of traditional Mindanaoan arts and crafts, unlocking opportunities for business ventures not only for the graduates but also with partner communities. This will further be strengthened with the establishment of the Artisanal Heritage Studies and Creative Enterprise Center (AHSCEC), a training facility for culture-based creative enterprise that entails collaboration of PWC’s different programs.

AHSCEC’s project leader Emi Englis who is also the program chair of BFA Fashion Design and Industrial Design has earlier on announced the center’s inauguration next month. [Click here to learn about the PWC Fine Arts Program]
