JHS unit crowns FACES of PWC 2018
As part of the Junior High School Intramurals 2018, the Basic Education Department held the Search for the Future Ambassador of Committed and Excellent Student (FACES) of PWC Coronation last November 26, 2018 at the RSM Events Center.
More than a display of aesthetics, the FACES also provides a platform for student development. As stated in the event rationale, pageant serves as a symbol of bounty that helps young beauties exercise their talents and unseen beauty at the same time, help the children with their socializing skills — all within a competitive atmosphere.
The coronation served as the culmination of a series of activities which started as early as October, including the candidates’ participation in GREENNow Project: Coastal Clean Drive, Mangrove Tree Planting Activity, a visit to Co Su Gian Home for the Aged, and finally the talent showcase and pre-pageant ceremonies held on November 19, 2018, a week ahead of the coronation day.

The top 3 candidates who were named at the last leg of the program advanced into the question and answer portion where they shared insights on social media responsibility and being a positive influence to the PWC community.
In the end, Joshua Robin Candelaria of the Blue Paragon and Nathea Gail Mangahas of the Yellow Blazers were crowned as the 2018 FACES of PWC. 1st runners-up were Jose Gabriel Alfonso of the Red Defenders and Patricia Samuelle Eliseo of the Blue Paragon, followed by 2nd runners-up Ches Joshua Cuares of the Red Defenders and Alliah Cassandra Rabanos of the Yellow Blazers.
