PWC signs MOU with Leon A. Garcia Sr. Elementary School

PWC of Davao is now officially in partnership with Leon A. Garcia Sr. Elementary School following the signing of the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on September 9, 2019.

Present in the event were Enydeza O. Oran, principal of Leon A. Garcia Sr. Elementary School, Marilyn Marcelo, District Supervisor of DepEd – Davao, and John Edward C. Cabreros of SBM Community Linkages, and Elna S. Puerto, chair of SBM Leadership and Governance.

Signing on behalf of PWC were Director for Institutional Planning, Development & Quality Assurance Dr. Reynald A. Japay, Assistant Principal for Administration Girlie B. Sumapig, and Community Extension Services Head Paolo S. Naval.

In his statement, Dr. Japay expressed gratitude towards the partner school and saw the agreement as fulfillment of PWC’s drive to be part of the greater community. He stressed that the collaboration will help develop both schools, especially the students, and maximize opportunities to having linkages geared towards improving education.

The partnership is an initiative under the Adopt-A-School Program of the Office of the Community Extensions directed on the Senior High School Unit, particularly in the following aspects: improvement of school facilities, improvement of student literacy, provision of health and nutrition assistance, skills development training for students, teachers and parents, promotion of environmental awareness and ecologically sound practices, provision of guidance and counselling services, and promotion of culture and arts.

Both parties are looking forward to a long-term partnership that will be strengthened and developed in the coming years.
