Representatives from PWC visited Sulop, Davao del Sur last February 27, 2020 to extend aid to one of its personnel.

Marlon Cabase, senior high school HUMMS faculty, has been residing in Barangay Tanwalang, Sulop, Davao del Sur with his family. The magnitude 6.9 earthquake last December 15, 2019 unfortunately left their home in total devastation. It was notably the strongest of the series of earthquakes that shook Mindanao in the latter months of 2019, displacing over 30,000 families in the affected regions.

With the help of department heads and his coworkers, PWC management learned of Cabase’s plight and was able to provide assistance through the Office of the Community Extension Services (CES) and PWC Foundation.

CES coordinator Paolo Gaudencio Naval and HRD representative Leonylene Ituriaga conducted the turnover of relief goods during the home visit where they got to check on the family’s current condition and consult about their needs. The PWC Foundation further provided financial assistance, which has been used to meet expenses for repair and other necessities.

“Hopefully, this would be just one of the many endeavors of the foundation,” Naval said, “it could only be the start of carrying the torch of helping those in need. It’s really commendable that the foundation is activated in times of need and is doing its best to help its own people.”
